Private Beta!

August 21, 2006

We’re now officially in private beta! We’re happy to announce the upgrade from alpha with several key updates – the entire SocialPicks team has been working real hard with lots of caffeine for a while now!

During this beta stage, we’re inviting a limited number of people in the blogosphere to try out the system. Ask around to get an invite from people who have them already! Interested in checking out SocialPicks but can’t get an invite? Send us your email, and we’ll notify you when we’re ready.

Shoot as an email at help at socialpicks dot come if you have any questions!

Several new updates …

July 10, 2006

The dev team has been working tremendously hard and several significant additions & changes have been completed. The portfolio feature is now more emphasized, and the old “pick list” has been transformed to a new “sentiment” (bullish/bearish) system. For our alpha users: you will notice that your previous “picks” have all become “bullish”, and you can modify these anytime at the stock pages.

As always, please let us know how you think about these new changes. Suggestions are always welcomed.

A lot more new features are coming soon!

SocialPicks Sneak Peek @ Supernova 2006

June 22, 2006

SocialPicks was in attendance yesterday at Supernova 2006 in San Francisco! We were very excited to be invited by Kevin Werbach as part of the "Technology Upstarts" showcase session.

We had the chance to meet with many familiar bloggers for the first time. We've also received some awesome feedback from attendees like Markus Frind of Plentyoffish.com right on the spot (thanks Markus!). Definitely an awesome experience for us!

It's also our great pleasure to be in the same demo room (aka "startup cave") with Carnet Williams of ChipIn, Matt Kaufman of Edgeio, and Christopher Allen of SynchroEdit.

Do you feel ajaxed today?

June 2, 2006

After a few weeks of hard work, we’ve pushed out an ajax-based, customizable front page for our users! Thanks to the hard works by Keven and Ian, now you can customize what info you’d want to see when you first log on. We will also add more available modules as we move along.

In the mean time, keep those feedback coming!

Progress

May 1, 2006

Greetings from SocialPicks!

A big thanks to all of our private alpha users! We're extremely happy about the feedback we've received. We've been working around the clock to fix bugs and add all the new features our users have requested.

Special thanks to the InvestorGeeks guys (Jason, Chris, and Frank) for writing a detailed review of SocialPicks. Being stock investors ourselves, we built SocialPicks to make it an effective platform for stock investors at all levels to collaborate and share information. It is definitely exciting for us to know many of our peers are liking SocialPicks thus far. The concept is indeed new in some ways, and our adventure has just started.

We've added a number of features during the past week: RSS feed, email alert, and related blog search of each stock. Users can also suggest particular stocks to friends. And yes, we are working on the portfolio feature that many of our users have requested.  Keep all the feedback coming!
